A Double Dose Of Di'Zsa This Week!!
This week I have two opportunities to see and hear my friend Di'Zsa Wilde sing, on back-to-back nights with two different excellent bands! Yeow!
Thursday she will appear with The Cubes (left), who bill themselves as "The Shape of the Eighties," from 9:45 p.m.-1 a.m. at Jimmy Love's in the Gaslamp Quarter (corner of 5th and G). There's no cover charge. Although they already were a fine band, The Cubes added four new members recently to go along with holdovers Sean Michaels and Di'Zsa, and now the band is rocking even better than before! Their shows at Jimmy Love's have packed the dance floor almost every time!
Then on Friday Di'Zsa will be at the Cannibal Bar at the Catamaran Resort on Mission Boulevard with The Heroes (right), who play a wide range of hits you'll remember right away! Doors open at 8 p.m. and there's a $5 cover charge. I've known The Heroes and Di'Zsa since we all worked together on "La Jolla DNA" in 2000, and they are a great bunch of people, as well as being some of the finest musicians in San Diego! I'm hoping Mattie Mills will be there Friday, as she had a night off when I last saw The Heroes in early March at Viejas Casino, and I missed her!
I hope to make it to both shows, and I hope to see some of you there too! Both bands and both clubs are great for dancing!Posted at 1:29 PM in Music
