Patti Zlaket Returns To Humphrey's Friday
Singer/songwriter Patti Zlaket returns to Humphrey's Backstage Lounge on Shelter Island tomorrow, Friday, May 14, to play a 6-8 p.m. show. There will be a $4 cover charge starting at 5 p.m. If you get there early, Humphrey's offers a "One Buck Buffett" from 4:30-6:30 with tasty cheap snacks!
I met Patti Zlaket in 2002 when my friend Douglas Foxworthy e-mailed to suggest that I might want to go to Humphrey's a little early on a Friday night when he knew I was going there anyway to see The Heroes. Doug told me about Patti and said she would be playing the 6-8 show and that it would be well worth my trouble to get there early and see her.
Since I valued Doug's musicial opinions, I did indeed arrive early that evening, and it was indeed worth my trouble! Patti turned out to be an excellent singer and songwriter, with a very funny personality. She gave a great performance that night, assisted only by Gary Hyde on guitar!
I've seen Patti several times since then, including a show at Humphrey's in February, when I shot this photo of her and bass player Ken Dow. I traded Patti my pictures for her CDs that night, and I've played them many times since then! She's a great writer and a fine singer!
Patti revised her web site recently. Here's an e-mail she sent me about that:
Check out my newly updated web site at http://PattiZlaket.com/. Webmistress extraordinaire Catherine Radcliffe and photographer extraordinaire CeCe Canton have helped me spruce up the site. There is now a link to CDBaby.com where you can listen to my music and buy CDs! Thanks, as always, for the continued support...YOU ROCK!!!!!!!!Posted at 7:39 AM in Music
