34Below Plays Dublin Square Wednesday
I met Steve Ybarra and Chris James in October of 2002 when they did a set at the fourth and final installment of the late and much lamented Naked Songwriters Showcases at Humphrey's Backstage Lounge. In this photo I shot of them then, Steve is on the right. He and I discovered that we both went to different schools named St. Augustine, and we've kept in touch. Both of the guys are part of a band called 34Below, which was previously known as Liquid Groove. They are responsible for the Sycuan Casino jingle, "It's all right here..."
I haven't seen 34Below yet, but I hope to finally catch them this Wednesday, June 9, when they play in the Gaslamp Quarter at Dublin Square Irish Pub as part of a West Coast tour in support of their new album, which just happens to be called "Live at Dublin Square"! Click on the CD below to hear samples from it.
Here's a message from 34Below with more details:
For only one night this summer... get your Irish on! 34Below returns to Dublin Square at 9 p.m. this Wednesday, June 9th! Come on down to 554 4th Avenue in San Diego's Gaslamp district to experience the latest release "Live at Dublin Square" in person. After Dublin, we'll have a few more Southern California shows, then it's up the West Coast and beyond. We're constantly adding new shows to 34Below.com so be sure to check back often.Posted at 1:16 PM in Music
