Jose Sinatra At Claire De Lune Saturday
I saw my old bookseller/musician friend Jan Tonnesen, aka Troy Dante, on Tuesday, when I paid a visit to Downtown's great Wahrenbrock's Book House on Broadway. Jan told me that the band/comedy act he's been in for years will make one of their much-too-rare appearances at 8:30 p.m. this Saturday, June 26, at Claire de Lune Coffee Lounge on University Avenue in North Park.
The band, Jose Sinatra and the Troy Dante Inferno, is not an easy act to explain. How shall I put this? Let's just say that Jose is a somewhat sleazy guy who will sing songs you've heard many times before, in a way you've NEVER heard any of them before! While that may sound bad, it's actually quite fun!
Join them at Claire de Lune for the show, which Jan said will be about 90 minutes long, so from 8:30 to about 10. There's no cover, but the house suggests at least a $5 donation for the band. By the way, I understand Skid Roper, Mojo Nixon's old pal, will be playing bass for the Inferno Saturday night!Posted at 11:28 AM in Music
