Patti Zlaket Back On "Locals Live" Tuesday
I don't know if Joan Rubin stole my address book or what, but every Tuesday she seems to be choosing mostly singers I know to appear on her "Locals Live" radio show! Last week it was Eve Selis and Marc Intravaia, and this Tuesday from 10 a.m.-noon it will be my friend Patti Zlaket, who is making a return visit to the program. I shot this picture of Patti during Bridget Brigitte's Memorial Day showcase.
I first met singer/songwriter Patti Zlaket on a Friday night in 2002, when she played an early show at Humphrey's Backstage Lounge that preceded a performance by The Heroes. My friend Doug Foxworthy knew I was going there to see them, so he suggested I arrive early and catch Patti's show too. I did, and I have seen her quite a few times since then. She is a great songwriter and singer, and a very entertaining and funny performer! Patti has a CD available called "Bliss." You can click on the picture of it to hear sample clips from her songs.
As for Joan Rubin, I hadn't heard of her or the "Locals Live" radio show on KKSM-AM 1320 until June, when another singer I know named Randi Driscoll was a guest on the program. I listened and learned a lot of new info about Randi and her music, thanks to Joan's excellent questions. The next night I went to Redfield's to see Randi perform a few songs during the Mighty 1090's Padres Postgame Show. Randi pointed out Joan sitting in the audience, so I introduced myself to her later. She gave me a warm hug and thanked me for doing something to help local musicians!
Here's an e-mail I received yesterday from Patti Z:
I was invited back to KKSM to co-host another 2 hours of music for "Locals Live" this Tuesday, August 3rd, from 10 a.m.-12 p.m.!Posted at 8:09 AM in Music
If you missed it the last time, never fear! There are now MORE ways to tune in, whether you're in North County or North Dakota!
KKSM can be heard three ways:

I'll be playing some of my favorite tunes from some of my favorite artists (it's quite an eclectic mix, I promise!) and will perform a few of my own songs live, too! Check it out... it was a blast the last time!
Well, I had a blast... hope you did, too. :-)
