San Diego Indie Music Fest Is On Sunday
The first-ever San Diego Indie Music Fest, featuring over 25 bands on three stages, will be this Sunday, November 14, at The Abbey in Hillcrest!! Produced by Danielle LoPresti and Kelly Bowen and their Say It Records, together with Alicia Champion and her Champ Records, the event will last 12 hours, beginning at noon and ending at midnight! I shot this photo of (from left) Danielle, Alicia and Kelly in March when they shared the stage at a Women's History Month Celebration. I also attended one of the Indie By Design showcases that Danielle and Kelly present at various venues, and Alicia was helping out that night.
These three women produce great shows, and I suspect this one will top everything I've seen them do so far! Take my advice and do not miss it! I'm not saying that you need to go for all 12 hours of the Indie Music Fest, but please do get there for at least part of the day! Just getting inside The Abbey to take a look around that beautiful and historic old building may be worth the $15 for a noon-6 p.m. ticket! All ages are welcome during the afternoon hours, by the way, and children 12 and under get in free!
Here's an e-mail from Danielle about the event:
