Jane Lui Plays At Lestat's West Tonight

JaneI've seen Jane Lui sing twice in the last five weeks, and I enjoyed both of her performances. She was the first act I caught on the initial night of the GoGirlsMusicFest on October 28, then I saw her again at the San Diego Indie Music Fest on November 14, where I shot this photo of her playing keyboard and singing up on The Abbey's balcony stage. I really like Jane's voice a lot. It's kind of sultry, husky, syrupy, whiskey-stained, tea-stained? I dunno... I just like it.

I got an e-mail this week from Jane saying she will be playing a 30-minute opening set at 9 p.m. tonight, Thursday, December 2, at Lestat's West in Normal Heights. The main act will be Eddie From Ohio. There will be a $12 cover.

Here's that e-mail from Jane:

I have been kindly invited to open for the national touring act, Eddie From Ohio, this Thursday. They're booked all over the map till this time next year! This folk-ternative band has beautiful people and music, a guaranteed groove-in-your-seat experience. And their website's flashy: www.EddieFromOhio.com
