34Below Plays Dublin Square Friday
I received an e-mail on January 6th from 34Below that said the band was in a studio working on their next CD, and that they would be finished recording within a week and ready for a wrap party that was scheduled to take place last Saturday night at Muldoon's up in Newport Beach.
34Below will perform their new songs as well as many of their old ones this Friday night, January 21, at Dublin Square Irish Pub in the Gaslamp Quarter. I shot this photo of Steve Ybarra (left) and Chris James when 34Below played the same venue last June. I've seen the band there twice. The stage isn't very photographer friendly, as you can tell by the huge railing in front of Chris, but it's a fun place to see them perform, with a great crowd and plenty of Guinness! The show starts at 9 p.m.
Here's that e-mail:
A new year, a new album, a new reason to rock!Posted at 10:17 AM in Music
Yes, we're back in the studio and excited about the energy. We've got guitars, drums, the same mixing console used to record Michael Jackson's "Thriller," a plethora of mics, and a cowbell. Oh, and a horde of new kick-ass songs you've never heard! What more could you ask for?!
We'll end our studio sessions with a wrap up party at Muldoon's in Newport Beach on Saturday, January 15th. We'll have a few more shows in the San Diego and Riverside areas before we head out to Orlando, Florida, at the end of the month.
Last year, we brought out the unplugged side of us. This year the "Masses will Collide!" Stay tuned...
