Our New Look Is A Reality At Last!
I am thrilled to announce that ShyCloud.com's new layout and color scheme are finally in place!
I had the new look stuck in my head for months and months, but I was unable to bring it to the screen because I lacked the language I needed to turn it into reality. Finally, though, I have conquered Cascading Style Sheets (CSS) and my vision for a new look is on the screen at last! Yay!
The site's old design forced visitors to do a lot of scrolling up and down the page to get to various features. The new design includes a navigation bar at the top of the page that allows you to access almost every feature without scrolling at all! In my opinion, that makes the page a lot easier to use.
I want to thank my friends Marisa Cullen and Nadine Butler for the input they gave me on creating a new color scheme. It's always rough trying to design anything when you are somewhat color blind like me, so I couldn't have done this without them! Thanks so much M and N!
I still have some work to do on the templates for various pages beyond the home page itself, but they are gradually taking shape too. You can see the direction I am going with them by checking out one of the pages you get when you click on a title in the list of Recent Articles. Click here for a sample.
I hope you will enjoy the new look of ShyCloud.com, and that you will visit the site often to learn more about what's happening in my world! While I was studying CSS, I took about a two-month break from writing articles for the site, but that break is almost over. Expect new articles soon! And I plan to start doing some in-depth interview pieces too, so you might even be getting contacted by me about being the subject of an interview!
Still ahead on my drawing board is a photo gallery where I will be able to display and even sell copies of the photos I take of various happenings in the San Diego music and theater scenes. Stay tuned for that!
P.S. -- I am now employing Google Ads on many pages to help pay ShyCloud.com's bills. If you spot any ads that interest you, please do click on them, because every click will mean a few cents towards paying our expenses! Thanks!Posted at 11:11 AM in Blogging
