GoGirlsMusicFest Is Saturday
Kim is all sweet and innocent looking when you see her, but she has been selecting songs for Joan to play that contain words the FCC says don't belong on a college radio station! Joan has had to end at least two cuts early! It's funny, and I can totally picture Kim blushing from embarrassment!
Anyway, Kim is on the show partly to promote something she has been sending me e-mails about: this year's 6th Annual GoGirlsMusicFest on Saturday, October 8, which Kim is coordinating. My friend Bridget Brigitte organized two GoGirlsMusicFest 2004 events last year and I went to both of them. I loved the shows and I still love the free GoGirlsMusic CD I got for attending! It is one of my favorite CDs and I play it all the time!
This year's event will be hosted by Pete Thurston and all proceeds will go to benefit The Lynne Cohen Foundation for Ovarian Cancer Research.
The show is at the Hard Rock Cafe in La Jolla and it will start at 7:30 p.m. and end at 1:00 a.m. Admission is $6, and it's open to all ages until 10 p.m., when it will become 21+ only. The first 100 people through the door get a FREE GoGirlsMusicFest '05 compilation CD!
I've seen and photographed almost all of this year's artists, so I know they are great performers! The top picture here is one I shot of Kim DiVincenzo during Acoustic Alliance 4 in February, while I took the bottom one of Mermaid's Journey at last October's GoGirlsMusicFest.
I will be there Saturday night, and if you like great local music, you should be there too!
Kim's e-mail about the showcase follows.
FINALLY! It's here! GoGirlsMusicFest 2005 is happening this Saturday, October 8th, at the Hard Rock Cafe in La Jolla from 7:30 p.m. until 1:00 a.m. The event will be hosted by Pete Thurston and all proceeds will go to benefit The Lynne Cohen Foundation for Ovarian Cancer Research.Posted at 11:34 AM in Music
