Catch Saba At HOB & Ould Sod
I'm in for a triple treat this week, as not only am I going to make my first visit to Downtown San Diego's House of Blues on Wednesday night, but I'm also going to see my intensely talented and beautiful friend Saba perform both there and again Sunday at The Ould Sod in Normal Heights.
Saba, a singer and songwriter who also runs Spinster Recordings, will be the opening act Wednesday, February 15, for the Stripped Acoustic Showcase. I shot this picture of her in November during the San Diego Indie Music Fest at The Abbey.
The HOB doors will open at 7:30 p.m. and there will be a $5 cover. Saba will start playing at 8:30 sharp and will only be on for 20 minutes, so if you want to see her, be early, not late! Also on the bill that night will be Christopher Dale, Sean O'Donnell (of Reeve Oliver), This Holiday Life, and Get Back Loretta.
On Sunday, February 19, Saba will be one of the performers during the 9th Annual Amnesty International Fundraiser that will run from 4-11 p.m. at The Ould Sod on Adams Avenue. The minimum donation to get in is $9.
Other performers Sunday will include Gregory Page, Greg Laswell, Sara Petite, Berkley Hart, and Brax. I don't yet know the set schedule.
