Just wanted to tell you that the trip was a total wash-out. Got my notebook ripped off a few klicks into Mozambique, and spent a couple of nights in a Maputo gaol when I went to the cops to complain. Eventually got as far as Blantyre in Malawi, but the Harley had broken down on me so many times that I sold it for the price of a ticket home. I haven't given up, the trip will happen, but next time I'll use a jap 4x4 and take plenty of S.A. beer with me to bribe the road-blocks and not get ripped off. Love your page.

I like your page and tried to subscribe to your list but was unable to do so. I'm planning a tour through Southern Africa as far as Malawi and possibly Burundi and Congo. I'll let you know more when it happens. Am planning a book about the tour, tentatively called "Travels with Harley" (apologies to Steinbeck), as I plan on using a Harley panhead as transport.
